The Production
Who is singing?
Arielle (who wishes to remain anonymous).
It was a marvelous experience working with you on this project, it really was quite fun. Thank you Arielle for your time and patience, and above all for your beautiful voice! The tempo of the song was reduced from the original to allow Arielle to sing. With hindsight this slower tempo blends better with the overall solemn mood of the new lyrics.
Who is playing the music?
Piano
Zachary Bernatchez
I did not get the chance to meet you, but “Merci beaucoup, Zachary!” (Thanks a lot)!
Guitars, bass, recording and mixing
Jesse Mac Cormack
It was a pleasure working with you Jesse! Thank you for the hospitality, the advice and the great work. All the best!

The initial demo was recorded on a phone shortly after Christmas 2024 and a visual support was quickly made on an old laptop and it's built-in film making/editing software. Having zero talent nor skill in this trade, I decided to use still images as a visual support. From all the time I have spent in the US, and regardless of where I was in this big country or who I spoke to, the American flag's charisma is what struck me the most.
Despite their differences (political, ethnical,…), Americans in an overwhelming majority are proud of their flag and display it on their homes, cars, buildings, factories,… Coming from a small region that was a battlefield for centuries, I would have thought that flags would be more center stage in my native region or in Europe in general for that matter, but such is not the case. The relationship between Americans and their flag seems special and unique.
For that matter I chose to show some of the evolution of this flag from 1777 to today and read at the same time about its fascinating history.
